HTP Thermostatic Herbarium Drying Press The HTP is a modern herbarium drying press designed for fast and high quality preparation of herbarium specimens. The press was designed according to Wesiak (Phyton, Vol.14, Fasc.1-2, 1970). It was presented at Worlddidac fairs 1998 in Basel and 2000 in Zürich. The construction frame of the HTP press is made of aluminum. The walls and control panel are made of Inox. The drying chamber maintains a slight overpressure above the surrounding (40 - 50 mbar) that ensures gentle warm airflow circulation through the specimen stack, drying the specimens evenly. Air temperature can be regulated in 30 - 85 °C range. The selected temperature is kept constant by a thermostatic system. During drying the specimens are under a constant weight load. The weight load can be regulated between 2 and 18 kg by proper selection of weights. Wights are lifted manually. Only one Thermostatic Herbarium Drying Press prepares up to 60 herbarium specimens within 24 hours. The press is equipped with a set of specially prepared corrugated paper sheets.
